Terms of Service
The terms that apply when you use our website, online forms, Client Portal, and case status features.
1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of chuangshilaw.com, the online forms and questionnaires linked from it, and our Client Portal (together, the “Services”), operated by Chuang Legal Office, Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Services you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services. Legal services we provide to a client are governed by a separate written engagement agreement; if that agreement conflicts with these Terms, the engagement agreement controls.
2. No legal advice; no attorney-client relationship
Content on the Services is general information, not legal advice about your situation, and may not reflect the latest changes in law. Using the Services, submitting a form, booking a consultation, or sending us information does not create an attorney-client relationship. An attorney-client relationship exists only after we complete a conflict check and both you and we sign a written engagement agreement. If your matter has an urgent deadline, call us directly.
3. Using our forms
You agree to give true, accurate, and complete information, and to submit information about another person only if you are authorized to do so. Name, telephone number, and email address are required on our registration and consultation forms. Forms are protected by automated bot checks (Cloudflare Turnstile) and submission limits. Please do not include sensitive information in a first inquiry unless we ask for it.
4. Client Portal accounts
- Eligibility. Client Portal access is available only to clients and prospective clients we have invited, after identity verification. Access is personal and may not be shared.
- Your responsibilities. Keep your sign-in details and devices secure, and tell us right away at xiao@chuangshilaw.com or 909-969-6666 if you think someone else has accessed your information.
- Closing access. You may ask us to close your Client Portal access at any time; we will disable it within 5 business days of a verified request. What happens to your information afterward, including how to request permanent deletion, is described in the Privacy Policy.
- Suspension. We may suspend or end portal access if we reasonably believe it is being misused, to protect your information, or when our engagement ends.
5. USCIS case status information
We may use the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Case Status API to retrieve and show you the status of your immigration case. When you use this feature:
- You may submit only receipt numbers for your own case, or for a case you are legally authorized to act on.
- Case status information comes from USCIS, may be delayed or incomplete, and is not a legal determination or advice. USCIS maintains the official record of your case. Do not rely on a status update alone to decide whether to meet a deadline; ask your attorney.
- We use case information only to provide this service and to handle your matter, as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not sell it.
- The feature may change or become unavailable if USCIS changes or suspends the API.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to: use the Services for any unlawful purpose; submit false information or impersonate anyone; try to access accounts, data, or systems you are not authorized to access; probe, scan, or test the security of the Services; use bots, scrapers, or other automated tools to access or submit to the Services; send spam or malicious code; overload or disrupt the Services; or attempt to obtain our API credentials or other confidential configuration. We may block access and report violations to the authorities.
7. Intellectual property
The text, design, logos, and other original content of the Services belong to Chuang Legal Office or its licensors. You may view and share pages for personal, non-commercial purposes with attribution. You may not copy our design or logos in a way that could confuse people about who is providing legal services.
8. Third-party services and links
The Services link to or embed third-party services such as YouTube, Telegram, and Google. We do not control those services, and their own terms and privacy policies apply.
9. Results and testimonials
Case results and client reviews describe particular matters. They do not guarantee or predict the result of any other matter.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
We work to keep the Services accurate and available, but they are provided “as is” and “as available,” to the extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the website, forms, or portal. Nothing in these Terms limits our professional duties to a client under an engagement agreement or the rules of professional conduct, or any right that cannot be waived by law.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes about these Terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, unless an engagement agreement provides otherwise.
12. Changes to these Terms and your consent
Before we change these Terms, we will post a plain-language summary of what changed at the top of this page. We will also email you if we have your email address. We will ask for your active consent to the change. For example, we may ask you to check an “I agree” box when you next sign in or send a form, or reply to our email. Until you agree, the earlier Terms continue to apply to you. If you do not agree, you may stop using the Services, close your Client Portal account, and ask us to delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
